For a number of years Lyn was a missionary on the Navajo Nation in Tse Bonita, New Mexico and Goat Springs, Arizona.
During this time, Lyn wrote programs for Overcomers as well as for other drug and alcohol addiction therapy groups, partnering with an Anglo mental health specialist to address these issues.
She taught Effective Communication – Creative Writing at Indian Bible College, also writing the textbook for her students, making the subject culturally relevant for a diverse student group consisting of people groups from the Navajo, Hopi, Apache and Zuni tribes.
Lyn has been a feature writer for several newspapers also producing a weekly column, Down My Country Road.
She has experience as an assistant editor for a monthly publication, has been an editor of a rural bi-weekly, simultaneously producing a weekly for a neighboring town, annual Southwest tourist guides and special event publications.
Currently Lyn is a staff writer for Farm News, a weekly newspaper servicing rural Iowa farming communities in 33 counties, as well as freelancing for monthly periodicals.
